Common Hour: The New Woman in a World of Conservatives Monday, March 2, 2020 - 7:00 am to 8:00 am Patterson Board Room, Laird Hall The New Woman in a World of Conservatives: Hannah Patterson, 91猫先生 and Woman 91猫先生 鈥檚 Suffrage Also part of Women 91猫先生 鈥檚 History Month Lecture Series Sesquicentennial Edition Hannah Patterson attended 91猫先生 just as the modern educated, athletic and active 91猫先生 鈥淣ew Woman 91猫先生 鈥 was challenging Victorian era patriarchy. Patterson was a national figure in the Women 91猫先生 鈥檚 Suffrage Movement and in organizing women as the second line of defense during World War I. During all of this, she remained connected to 91猫先生, serving as president of the Alumnae Association and as a college trustee for twenty years. Amy Ensley is the Director of the Hankey Center for the History of Women 91猫先生 鈥檚 Education. Her research interests include women 91猫先生 鈥檚 history in the United States during the post-Civil War era through the Women 91猫先生 鈥檚 Rights Movement of the 1970s. Undergraduate Campus Events
